Change the Shape of your Teeth with Quality Cosmetic Dentistry Options
Modern dentistry offers a number of ways in which the shape and appearance of teeth can be changed. This includes things like repairing chips and damage, closing gaps in teeth, or making teeth look longer. Here are the most common options:
Dental Bonding
Bonding involves a thin, tooth colored resin that is attached directly to the surface of the teeth, and hardened through use of a special light.
Dental Veneers
Also called porcelain laminates, veneers are custom-made shells that are bonded to the entire front of your tooth.
Dental Crowns
Fully encasing the tooth, a crown is a cap that is cemented into place and covers the visible portion of the tooth all the way down to the gum line.
Dental Recontouring
While the previous methods involve covering all or portions of the tooth, recountouring (Also known as reshaping, slenderizing, stripping, odontoplasty or enameloplasty) removes part of the tooth enamel in order to change the shape, length or surface of the tooth.
Each of these procedures differ in cost, durability and time in the dentist chair. To find out which is right for you, please make an appointment with Dr. Faist in our Beachwood office for a consultation.
