A Look Into Why Dental Fillings Can Fail

Research published in Frontiers in Medicine looked into amalgam and composite dental fillings and a number of factors which might lead them to fail.

A few of the factors looked at included age, sex, drinking alcohol, smoking, periodontal health, diabetes, and genetics. Records of 4,856 individuals over five years were included as a part of the study.

Oral Health: Do Sports Drinks Cause Cavities?

Sports drinks are one of the worst things your child (or you) can consume for their oral health (or yours). Recently, it was found that just under 90% of pre-teens and young teens (12-14 years of age) consume sports drinks. Of this group, just under 70% of them admitted to drinking sports drinks anywhere from once per week to once per day. Unfortunately, the more of these drinks they consume, the greater risk their oral health is at.

Unfortunately, sleep apnea has been linked to many more serious diseases if left untreated.

If so, you are not alone as a study shows that 45% of people frequently snore, per the American Academy of Otolaryngology. With this being said, is snoring just an annoying noise that keeps people awake, or is it more serious than that?
