Frequently Asked Dental Questions - Beachwood, OH
Helping You Stay Informed
on Your Care
Whether you are looking for a new dentist or you simply need help understanding a specific upcoming treatment, the dentists and team members of Orange Place Family Dentistry are here to help. We’ve included a handful of the most common questions we hear from our patients and our detailed answers for your convenience. With that said, feel free to call if you need additional guidance!
Can you see my entire family for care?
Yes we can! As a family-focused dental office, we want to make getting your entire family seen as simple of a process as possible. Whether your youngest child needs to have their first dental checkup completed or your oldest family member needs to have teeth replaced via a custom-made denture, we’re happy to see and serve patients of all ages. We’ll even make time to see multiple family members over the same day!
How long do dental crowns take to create?
Traditional dental crowns take as many as two weeks because they often require partnering with a dental lab offsite. This forces dental offices to essentially wait in line with all the other dental offices in the area who may be working with the same lab. With same-day crowns, we can not only design your future crown, but fabricate it and place it the same day that it’s needed!
When do I need a checkup and cleaning?
We recommend visiting our dental office for a checkup and cleaning at least once every six months. Those managing severe gum disease will need to come in more often, or every three to four months. If you are unsure when your child should come in for care, just know that their first visit should generally occur either once their first tooth erupts or when they reach one year of age.
Can you enhance my smile?
There are many ways we can make your smile look exactly the way you want it to at our dental office. For example, our digital impression system makes it easy to design and create a series of custom-made clear aligners that straighten crooked teeth. We also offer one-visit restorations made from high-quality porcelain, an ideal solution for those who would prefer metal-free options for their dental treatments.
I feel anxious about care. Can you help me?
We understand that many patients find it difficult or even impossible to complete dental appointments due to dental anxiety or fear. For that reason, we offer multiple sedation options to help put you at ease during your appointment. This includes nitrous oxide sedation and oral conscious sedation, two methods that help you stay relaxed, but still keep you awake in order to talk with the dentist.
Do you perform full mouth restorations?
When your smile has experienced a large amount of wear and tear over the years, it can seem impossible to restore it. However, full mouth restorations can make even the most damaged teeth look new again. We’re happy to offer restorations, both traditional and implant-retained, to make your smile not just beautiful, but functional once again.
Can I come in to handle a dental emergency?
Absolutely. Our dental office will do everything possible to get you seen the same day that your emergency occurs. Our many in-house services work to not only keep you calm and relaxed during emergency treatment, but repair your tooth the same day. During your initial appointment, we always make sure to perform comprehensive X-rays as a precaution against dental emergencies.
